Nationals is over ):

Sorry that I didn't update for such a long, long time. I was soooooo crazy over bowling and wanting to bowl well at the Nationals that I did not have time to blog.

So, A Div just ended yesterday. The experience was the best I'd ever had, although the score wasn't that good. I really enjoyed myself during the competition. I enjoyed bowling with Ianson for the first two days. I enjoyed bowling with Team C for the Quarts. I love cheering insanely with Alton for the last two days. And I love laughing at other people with Chris.

SR Bowling joined this year's A Div with the aim of improving 2 positions overall. Last year we were at the 10th position for both guys and girls team and we were aiming to bring the school up to the 8th placing. In the end, we managed to exceed our target by achieving 7th position for both the guys and girls team! Good job, bowlers!

Okay, a brief overview of my journey throughout the competition. The images are super small. You might needa click on them.

Okay, so I bowled super shitty scores on the first day, which was the Singles event. Got one of the lowest position for SR bowlers. I got 88 for the first game that I bowled! And that game holds the record of SR's lowest scoring game in the A Div '09. Owned.

Doubles event! This is my proudest event of the tourney. Ianson and I was able to bounce back after bowling low scores for the first two games. My second game was an epic. On my fifth frame, when I tried to release the ball, my thumb got stucked. And my Avalanche flew all the way from lane 5 and bounced once in the middle of lane 5 and 6 before bouncing to the right gutter of lane 6. Since then, Chris has been calling me "Next-Lane bowler". Wtf. Anyway, I'm still proud of Ianson's 200 game. We managed to clinched 34th position out of 84 pairs and I'm really glad about it.

Okay, next came the quartet event. We played 3 games on two different days. It didn't do well for Team C on the first day. My Avalanche failed me miserably. Seeing that everyone else in my team is putting up their best performances, I was so afraid that I was going to pull the whole team down. My mental game failed terribly on that day. We ended up getting 16th position among the 42 teams for the first day.

The next day, we were supposed to bowl beside this AJ team. And there's this guy who witness the incident at the doubles event where I threw the ball into another lane. He was bowling beside me. And he was like, "Eh, it's this guy again sia. Don't throw your ball into our lane again hor." Lol, that event was already a classic. Anyway, I bowled better for the second day and pulled my average up. Ironically, my team mates dropped. But it's okay, we still managed to say among the top 20 teams. We got 19th. :D

Bowling with Team C is probably the best experience. If I'm not wrong, we were the noisiest team in that Squad and we came up with all those weird cheers that make people wonder if we're crazy. We'll like shout the bowler's full name when he bowl and if he strikes or spare, we will shout "YOU ARE MAD!" Hahaha. Alton is my best cheering mate.

So after two weeks of hard work, nationals finally came to an end. I didn't perform up to my own expectations. That's a little disappointing. But what really mattered was that I enjoyed myself. 87th position out of the 168 bowlers is good enough for me. I still don't understand why Keith's position is lower than mine. Anyway, I'll post the photos soon. Now it's time to focus on the MYE.

I'm looking forward to SR League!

GOOD JOB FOR THE NATIONALS, SR BOWLING TEAM!
