Just ended a pub game, which lasted 80 long minutes.
Actually we, meaning James, Hanyong, Jerrold and I, are supposed to play a WC3 ORPG game together earlier on. In the end, Jerrold couldn't make it online. So, James and I decided to play pub DotA, dragging HY and JD in with us. The game went rather well despite the constant spiking and lagging throughout the game.
I like these pub games. It enable us to use heroes that we are not cut out to use in draft matches. In this game I used Nevermore, which is totally not in my calibre. I'm not those people that play killers/solo-ers/farmers. I'm not good in lane controlling and have low awareness and that makes me a ultimate lousy solo-er. My last hit isn't that good and large waves of creeps doesn't really looks attractive to me, that makes me a bad farmer. And I lack the killer instinct and aggressiveness that a killer should have, that makes me a poor killer.
My second time using Shadow Fiend in pub games ended with a satisfying score, for me at least. The score was 17-7. I managed to get my bottle, dagger and BoT before the 30mins mark and ended the game with manta, butterfly and HoT as my other items. Still, mistakes plague the way I play. I engaged poorly, missed dozens of razes and farmed too slow. Also my awareness sucks to the core. I started out attempting to micro my courier and my hero, as to constantly ferry my bottle. But after some bad attempts, which nearly caused the life of my crow, I gave up.
Once, while ferrying the bottle, I nearly died as the FV back stabbed me at the tower. Luckily his chrono didn't hit the tower and he received a considerable amount of damage from it.
So here's what I concluded from this match:
I NEED TO TRAIN MORE.
Geez, I'm becoming a DotA nerd.
