Singapore vs Thailand. First Leg.

Irritating toad.

Just finished watching the S'pore vs Thailand match. Awww... Too bad for the Thais, the Lions won the match 2-1. The match was dragged so long till the clock hit around 120mins. All because of Thailand. Waste time sia.

First half was a rather good one for Singapore, with Alam Shah scoring at the 16th minute. The goal came when Indra got the ball and shoot it but it was deflected, so he went for goal another time. Also a deflection. The ball rolled to Mustafic Fahrudin and his long shot was blocked. Alam Shah saw the chance, turned, and sent the ball into the net. Singapore was the one creating chances and attacking during this period of time. Better play from them this time than from the Malaysia match. The defence was also tight and reliable. Maybe because of the presence of Aide Iskandar. The Thais didn't even get a shot when the half time whistle was sounded.

At the start of the second half, Singapore was a little out-played by the Thais. Their equaliser came shortly after the break. On the 47th minute, the Singapore defence made a mistake which resulted a goal. The back-four allowed the two strikers of Thailand to beat the offside trap and Lionel Lewis in a 2-on-1 situation. Pipat Tonkanya scored. After that, Singapore slowly regained their form and created chances in bid of getting a winning goal. With the strong 55 000 crowd cheering behind their backs, Singapore was surging forward. And then, came the controversial descision. One of the Thai centre backs allegedly pulled Alam Shah down with him as Shi Jia Yi(Direct translation: Ten plus One) sends a cross into the box with a free kick at the closing stages of the game.

The botak centre back, whose name either ends with an "ah" or an "ee", protested instantly after the refree blow the whistle for penalty. He was so 'furious' that he ordered the whole of his team to get off the field. Then came the Thai manager, wearing a yellow shirt which resembles the Beatty yellow shirt. He looked as if he will blow off any minute. For someone his age, I highly advise him not to do that, in case he burst a blood vessel or two. Yes, you are right. I'm cursing them. Why? Well, curse them for being such sissies. Wasted more than 15 minutes of time standing at the sidelines, shouting, screaming and throwing tantrums like spoilt brats. Even the match officials had to come out to settle this dispute.

It was not as if the ref was baised towards any side during the game. He just made decisions based on what he sees. And I was glad that he stood firm and insisted on the penalty dispite the protest and critism from the Thais. I didn't really saw what happened at the penalty box and saw if that botak really pulled Alam Shah, due to the bad quality of the replays on TV. So, I'm not agreeing with the ref on the decision yet. But with such lousy attitudes from Thailand, I would say Singapore deserved the kick fully. I mean like, why the hell do you want to escape from a penalty which is not taken yet. Who knows? Maybe Singapore will miss. Anyway, the Thais protested and protested, appealed and appealed. Finally, they realise that such anthics don't work and got back to the field.

As the got their butts back onto the field, they were boo-ed by the sea of red present at the National Stadium. James, Guankai and their friends were there! Haha.

In the end, Mustafic Fahrudin scored the penalty. And the ref was obviously more baised to the Thais after the restart. Maybe he had enough of their petty, bratty protests and wanted them to shut their gap up. After the final whistle, I saw on TV that the Thais were like lining up and running towards their supporters, urging them to cheer for them. Haha. Joke faces.

For those Singaporeans who still think Singapore's win was because they were lucky or in other words, 'tyco' , I'm certainly sure that Singapore don't need such kind of 'luck'. They need more supporters like you, dammit. Change your opinons on them. After all, they are from the same country that you are from.

xD
